New Project today.

Finally Spring might be here. I know this is about the weather but that's important for life. The tree ducks have come back. Green Jays, Kiskadees, and red wing blackbirds have arrived. Alot of the first two stay most of the winter. Also the buff bellied humingbirds live here year round. I love to watch the birds as you can tell.

I am knitting prayer shawls for those who have lost loved ones or have a need to know that someone cares about them. Most of these people that have recieved my shawls are unknown to me. My daughter, Cheryl, usually finds someoone who needs a shawl thru her job as teacher. Each elementary school has large numbers of teachers with family, and there will always be someone who needs a show of love. I am proud to be doing my Lord's work. Albeit in a small way.

  1. As time goes by, I had lost the name of my blog. I found it and am going to talk about wild birds and sundry things. I have lots of time doing nothing soom days so I watch birds, dogs and hubby gardening. Also work in my sewing room when I think I can sit at the machine. i would love to be able to work on a big quilt. Maybe this summer I will be able to get a couple finished.
As to the birds, I have seen lots of flocks of Whistling Tree ducks roost along the resaca during the day. I don't know where they go at night. Most all the birds that we see in the summer stay close around here in the winter. Earlier, maybe Christmas, Sarah saw a flock of monarch butterflies feeding on the lemon tree which is in bloom. Lots happening in the wild here. Les saw a coyote last week. We usually see anywhere from 2 to 6. As more people build out in this area we are seeing less of them.
